Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a deck renovation cost?
The cost of your renovations depends on the scope of works and the size of the home. We recommend booking a consultation with our Estimator to discuss scope of works and potential costs. Another alternative is to use an online renovation calculator to get a quick estimate, but keep in mind that these are not always accurate and many factors go into costing a renovation. For more information, we recommend reading our blog post The Cost of Renovating.
What materials do you use for decks?
The type of materials used depends on the project you are undertaking, client budget and client preferences. We recommend reading our blog post Decks and Outdoor Spaces.
What permits and licences are required for my construction project?
This depends on your project and if you need any additional plumbing fixtures or making any structural changes. We work with certifiers to determine the permits and licences needed for any works that fall under a Building Approval or Plumbing Permit.
How do you handle unexpected changes or delays during construction?
As renovators, problem solving is what we do! Renovations means that there are always changes to the scope but we are always in constant communication with our clients, our team and our contractors to ensure we come up with a solution that is functional, cost-effective and looks good!
Do you offer any warranty or guarantee on your works?
Our work is warranted as per QBCC guidelines; 6 years, 6 months for structural and 12 months for non-structural works.
Do I need to pay the whole cost up front?
No. We use building contracts from Master Builders that comply with QBCC regulations to ensure the contract terms are fair to both builder and client. As part of these contracts, you will be required to pay a 5% or 10% deposit depending on which contract your works fall into. You will then be provided with payment stages, clearly set out in your contract that corresponds to the completion of various stages of the construction process.
How do you handle clean-up and disposal of construction materials and debris?
We use trailers to remove debris daily from all of our job sites rather than using skip bins that take up valuable space in communal carparks.
